Pet Friendly New York Accommodation

A very common problem among pet owners is what to do with their loved animal when traveling. Fortunately, there are many solutions that deserve their attention. If you are having issues regarding transportation or accommodation this article is going to make a certain number of questions pretty clear. So ladies and gentlemen, no matter if you have a flight to New York tomorrow and leaving your cat at home alone is impossible, you need to consider one of the pet friendly hotels in the city that you are heading to. This is going to make your life easier.

I first had the chance to start investigating these hotels that accept living with pets in New York the moment I had to relocate due to my job. I had a pretty busy schedule and I was obliged to fly to NYC several times per month. As I could not leave my dog at home, all by itself, alone – I had to take it with me. At that time I already had a pretty nice pet cage that I purchased exactly for something like this. Believe it or not, but pet plane transportation is not that hard as most of you guys believe. You just need to find the appropriate pet safe accommodation upon arrival.

If you are reading this article then you probably are one of those people who (just like me) cannot accept leaving a four legged animal when traveling to the amazing New York City. While in the majority of the cases people are having trouble trying to make this decision and to actually take their pet along with them on such a trip, there are others who are looking for more information regarding those pet-friendly New York hotels which are pretty high demand, especially by people who cannot live without their favorite “ball of fur”. Are you one of them?

As far as I know, more and more people are constantly refusing living their pets at home, this making the pet friendly hotels even more popular. While most hotels in New York are quite accustomed to clients who bring their pets along, there are stricter hotel owners who simply do not allow the presence of any fur covered beings with four legs inside their building. Believe it or not, but this might be a problem when you booked a hotel room in Manhattan for a week already and when you arrive in the middle of the night they tell you: “NO PETS ALLOWED!”

This is probably one of the biggest mistakes that beginners who are just starting traveling with their pet friends are committing. They book their hotel rooms without asking if they anything against bringing your fur friend with you. Sometimes you might be lucky and manage to sneak in, especially if your pet is extremely small and might get into your coat’s pocket or in your bag. Another option is for you to stumble upon a pet-friendly hotel without even thinking to ask them about this. In most of the cases people aren’t that lucky and have to continue researching.

Even if there are so many pet related restrictions in New York hotels, I’m sure that most of them will be able to convince, either in exchange for a small fee, or sometimes absolutely for free. If you have basic communication skills you will certain be able to explain them what the real problem really is. Just try to make sure that you won’t bring with you a really big pet, because you are certainly going to be asked to leave the hotel building the very first moment they see it. There are other clients who might not like it or even have fur allergy. Think about that!

On the other hand, New York is considered that place where you can buy almost everything, even joy and happiness. I personally know a lot of people who feel extremely satisfied when spending most of their time with their furry friends. If you are one of them you can easily find the necessary options when dealing with any type of accommodation in order to transform it into a fully friendly one. I would like to say (from my personal experience) that I never had any problem taking my black cat along with me in New York, in that special cage. Did you?

Pet lovers should also know that there are those really amazing five star hotels that offer various types of pet services, starting with veterinary ones and ending with certain health and hair cut facilities. These guys will always want to have both you and your pet back as long as you pay them their additional fee. Nevertheless, there is this aspect that I mentioned before. The size of your four legged pet also matters a lot when trying to convince the hotel manager to allow you to let it live in the same room that you do for several days. Just call them in time!
